Just realized my last journal update was two years ago, almost to the day. ...So here's a new one. Yay?

I'm... Baaack?

In case anyone was wondering, I haven't been drawing much because of a variety of things all happened at once.
1. I had a giant animation project due- lots of drawing. Lots of work.
2. Then, about a month ago, my hard drive crashed and I lost about four years of work. Artwork, stories, schoolwork- a week's worth of work on that animation project- all those comic pages and the plot arc I had planned... everything. So obviously, that put me off drawing for a bit. I probably will be putting Slayage off for a while until I can cobble the script all back together again.
3. One of my cats, J.K. (for Just Kitten, even though she hadn't been kitten for a while) died a few weeks ago. Apparently she was hit by a car.
But, with the submission of my Christmas gift to my parents and getting a new hard drive for Christmas, I hope to start drawing more again.
I'll put up my animation project some time. Or at least... a screenshot and then a link to a youtube video of it.

I KNOW, I KNOW. I am a crazy person. I went to finish drawing the page today... buuut my photoshop no longer works. I'll have to reinstall it- once I get the disk back from my house in two weeks, when I visit home again because I'm at ~college once more. RAGEEE.
Since I'm silly and never build up a buffer for myself in case of things like this... looks like we'll be Slayage-less until I reinstall photoshop again, poo. Also, I'm sort of unhappy with the pace this is moving at- I hadn't originally intended to bring in the main plot in the first chapter, since it was more of going to be a test-drive to see if I could keep up with a weekly webcomic. But again with the silliness... I hadn't really factored in the obvious fact that if I'm doing 40 pages for the first comic... it's going to take 40 WEEKS DURP DURP. And that is like. ALMOST A YEAR. Which is not how long I want to spend on this first dumb introductory plotless chapter. XD
So I might take these next two weeks to rework this first chapter to try and either condense it into some... ridiculous shortness or just try and actually introduce the plot instead of just being all "LOLOL INTRODUCTIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS! 8D"

Sorry, folks- no Slayage this week. Turns out I'm directing a shadowcast of everyone's favorite musical Buffy episode, Once More With Feeling, in a few weeks and I've got to focus on piecing together the entire plot and basically learning all the parts before we start practices. There WILL be a page next week, though- but for this week, I think I deserve some time off because hey, at least it's all going towards the Buffy cause?
